Classes
Last updated: 2026-06-15Pre-launch / subject to change at July 29, 2026 launch.
Your class is the core of how you fight in the Gyldenmist. Mistfall Hunter ran its betas with five classes — Mercenary, Sorcerer, Black Arrow, Shadowstrix, and Seer — and the July 29, 2026 launch adds a sixth, the Withered Knight.
Every class includes two archetypes. As the official material puts it, each class “includes two archetypes. This gives everyone two combat styles, different weapons, and exclusive talents.” So a class isn’t one lane — it’s a pair of playstyles you can lean between, backed by reassignable talents you can experiment with freely.

The Six Classes

- Mercenary — Bruiser / Tank. “The rock of your squad: durable, dependable, and simple to pick up.” Swaps between sword-and-shield and a crushing hammer. Best for: beginners who want a forgiving frontline.
- Sorcerer — Mage / Control. Elemental and arcane magic that shreds enemies from safety, plus shields and buffs for allies. Best for: new players — it’s the meta pick and top starter.
- Blackarrow — Ranged / Archer. Bows and traps for recon and pick-offs, staggering foes from range. Best for: patient players who like positioning.
- Shadowstrix — Stealth / Assassin. Goes invisible, drains stamina, counters healing, and bursts targets with daggers before vanishing. Best for: experienced players chasing a high skill ceiling.
- Seer — Support / Healer. Channels Mysti’s divine magic to heal, dispel curses, and drop runic totems. Best for: trio squads (plus the offensive Blasphemer path).
- Withered Knight — Greatsword Bruiser. The launch class: a fallen Rose Knight of Gaenaria built to mark, detonate, and drag enemies into the kill. Best for: aggressive close-range players.

Where to Go Next
New and not sure who to pick? The beta consensus is clear: IGGM recommends Mercenary, Sorcerer, and Blackarrow for novices, and most outlets call the Sorcerer the single best starting class for its safe damage and self-sustain.
