⚠️ Heads up. Mistfall Hunter is pre-launch (full release July 29, 2026). Harald’s details come from betas and previews — solid info, but his exact moveset and numbers can shift at launch.

General Harald can freeze your whole team, then punish you with a spear while you’re locked in place. That’s the one fact to fight around. He’s a Mist Lord — a guardian boss — and only the most fearless Gyldhunters survive him to claim the treasure he protects.

General Harald, Mist Lord of the ruins

Lore / Who He Was

Harald used to be one of the good guys.

He was a celebrated commander of Brandrgarde — a revered hero. Then came a desperate, failed experiment to stop the Gyldenmist. His soul was lost in it. The madness and power that followed twisted him into a corrupted thing, and now he guards the ruins as a relentless executioner.

It’s the same tragedy that powers the whole world of Weavereach: someone who tried to fight the fog and got swallowed by it instead. For the broader story, see World & Lore.

Attacks & Phases

Harald’s threat comes from two things working together: reach and crowd control.

  • Spear attacks — his main weapon. Long reach, so the space you think is safe often isn’t.
  • Freeze — he can freeze his targets in place.
  • AoE freeze on teammates — in a Trio, he can freeze multiple teammates at once. This is the dangerous part: a frozen team can’t dodge the spear that follows.

The combo to respect is freeze-then-punish. Get locked, and the spear is already on the way.

Strategy / How to Beat Him

Don’t all stand together. His freeze is the threat — group up and he takes the whole team at once.

A few principles for the fight, based on what’s known so far:

  • Spread out in a Trio. The AoE freeze is far less devastating if it can’t catch all three of you. Keep spacing so one freeze doesn’t end the run.
  • Respect the spear’s reach. Treat his range as bigger than it looks. Don’t sit in the mid-distance zone where you’re too far to hit but close enough to get speared.
  • Start on Normal. Learn the freeze timing and spear tells on Normal before you touch Chaos. Chaos is the upgraded-reward version, not the place to learn.
  • Bring a team for the first kill. Solo Harald is brutal — a single freeze with no one to revive you is often the end. A Trio gives you backup when someone gets locked.
  • Plan your extraction first. Beating Harald means nothing if you die carrying his loot. Know your Soul of Return route before you engage — see the Extraction Loop.

Rewards

Harald guards treasure, and that’s the whole reason to fight him.

He’s a relentless guardian sitting on the kind of high-value loot that Mist Lords protect. Survive him and you claim it — but only if you extract with it afterward. Boss runs like this are also a strong source of Gyldenblod; see Gyldenblod & Farming for turning kills into income.

FAQ

Who is General Harald? General Harald is a Mist Lord (guardian boss) in Mistfall Hunter. He was once a celebrated commander of Brandrgarde, corrupted after a failed experiment to stop the Gyldenmist.

How do you beat General Harald? Spread out to dodge his AoE freeze, respect his spear’s long reach, and bring a Trio for your first kill. Learn the fight on Normal before trying Chaos.

What attacks does General Harald use? He fights with a spear and can freeze his targets, including an AoE freeze that locks multiple teammates at once in a Trio.

Can you fight General Harald solo? Yes, he supports Solo or Trio on Normal and Chaos. Solo is much harder because a single freeze with no backup can end the run, so Trio is recommended.
